Democracy?
This weekend, the president of Pakistan called for a state of emergency and gained control of all media outlets. The democracy once modeled after are own came crashing down. This made me wonder. Could this happen in America? How close are we really from the abolishment of our civil liberties?

That is an interesting point, but i believe it seems a little farfetched...
I agree that we could once again lose our civil liberties like we have in the past as we often talk about, but i don't believe that we are in such perilous times right now. One could however argue that the war on terror is putting us in perilous times...but i disagree.
Bottom line, i think we are certainly a good ways away from losing our civil liberties
